Where are you from?
Born and raised in Oklahoma City, OK
(go Thunder!). I have spent most of my life in Oklahoma and I love it!
Eric and I are happy living here, but we are both flexible and willing
to move and go wherever God calls us to be.
What is your family like?
In one word, my family is amazing.
I am the oldest of four children, and the most non-creative and type-A
out of all of them (my sister is an artist and my brothers are
musicians). My parents are happily married and they raised us so very
well. I am also very blessed because my husband's family is also
amazing. We love spending time with both of our families.
When are you going to have kids?
Muahaha... Good
question! A LOT of our friends have started to have kids, but we still
have a few holdout, child-less couple friends. We're sticking with
them... for now :)
How tall are you?
Well, I say 5'10" because I was a
basketball player and I always wanted to be bigger (yes, I even
exaggerated about my weight). But, truthfully, I am 5'9" and a half. For
anyone wondering, Eric is 6'2". We're hoping for future college
athletes as children.
How big is your house?
We live in a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom house. It is approximately 1100 square feet.
What are your degrees in?
My undergraduate degree is
in Public Relations and my Master's degree is in Adult and Higher
Education. I work in volunteer programs within student affairs at a
university. I love my job!
How do you stay fit?
Hahaha. Oh man, I am way out of shape. You can read about my goals to get in shape here.
I was an athlete all through high school and college, so playing sports
has always been my way of staying in shape. Since I've been out of
school, I've had trouble sticking to anything long-term. For right now,
my fast metabolism and daily dog-walking seem to be keeping the pounds
away :)
How do you budget?
I am really cheap (it probably
relates to money being tight when I was a kid) and Eric is a
finance/investing genius (luckily, he never reads my blog and he won't
be mortified that I wrote that). That means that we are very much in
control of how we spend our money. We don't have any debt (besides our
mortgage) and we live pretty frugally (no cable, cooking at home,
shopping sales, etc.). We know where every dollar will go at the
beginning of the month by budgeting with Mint.com.
This has allowed us to save up for big purchases such as a couch and
our future Europe trip. This could probably be a whole blog post (or
two!), so I will keep you updated if I ever write about that.
What breed is your dog? Does he shed? What's his personality like?
