"Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!"
Psalm 107:1
So, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, what I am thankful for this year:
- My job! I had a big change in March when I switched to a different department at the university and went part-time. And it has been wonderful. So, so good. I love what I do and I love how often I do it. I cannot even tell you how much of a blessing this has been in my life. I literally feel thankful every time I walk into work.
- My mom. I have always been thankful for my mom, but this year the feelings have been strong. My mom cares for Piglet on the days that I am at work and it is wonderful to know that he is with someone who loves him so much. She has given me lots of good advice throughout the last year as well. She's the best.
- Eric. Obviously, I am always thankful for my husband, BUT watching him become a parent has been so fun. He is patient and thoughtful and I know that he will be the exact type of dad that Piglet needs.
- Our new home! The house is so pretty and we are loving the area too. We haven't done much in terms of decorating, but we are getting there!
- My iPhone. Sounds silly, but I love that I have the ability to capture so many of Piglet's sweet, everyday moments. Sometimes after he goes to sleep at night, I will just look through our pictures from the day. #crazymom
- A happy, healthy baby. My little boy is just so precious. I cannot even put words around how much I love him and how thankful I am for his presence in my life. He has had a very happy, healthy first year and I do not take that for granted.
I am also thankful for my amazing, kind family; cars that don't break down; booties; coffee; thoughtful friends and dry shampoo :)
SO much to be thankful for! Dry shampoo! Amen! :)
ReplyDeleteHe's getting so big! And cuter with every update. I didn't know you moved?! I fell off the face of the earth here these past few months. I love your mantle. Definitely my taste.
ReplyDeleteawww that photo of Eric and Piglet is too adorable.
ReplyDeleteAs a parent having an iphone is the best! There are so many moments I have been able to capture that would have been lost otherwise. You have so many great things to be thankful for!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet post! Piglet is too cute! My boy has that plaid shirt, too. And I 100% agree with the iPhone thankfulness. It's just so easy to take pictures and videos and share with family who live so far away. It makes it easier to stay in touch and keep track of all the milestones!
ReplyDeleteAww these are great things to be thankful for! Your little Piglet just gets cuter with time. Thanks for sharing these pictures with us!
ReplyDeleteYour son is adorable! :) I do the same thing with taking lots of photos and looking at them at the end of the day too!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a lovely thanksgiving! :)
Away From The Blue Blog
This is such a sweet post, and it's so true that this sort of horrible year worldwide has thrown into relief how incredibly thankful I am to be in the position that I am in: safe, healthy, financially stable, in a loving relationship, a warm home, a good relationship with all of my family, etc. It kind of makes me tear up to think about it. Thank you for posting this!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! It's definitely been a big year for you and it's so exciting to hear that everything is going well. I can't believe it's time to plan a first birthday party for your little man - wasn't he just born last week!?!
