Looking at these photos... this outfit is kind of... blech. I wore a cute jacket with this outfit but for some reason I forgot to take a picture with it on. It is what it is, I suppose. And it IS a skirt. Yay skirts. Yay spring. We all love you, spring.

Normally when I write my blog posts, I just try to think of the strangest thing I have experienced lately and then try to make it into a funny story. I really enjoy looking back on the blog at all the funny things that have happened over the past few years - the blog really is a journal of sorts... more than just a clothes journal. I have been blogging for a while now and I finally feel as though I have found a comfortable spot. Blogging is not my job, nor do I want it to be. I had about three stages of "I should grow my blog!" over the past few years - most were pretty short lived. I never did anything weird to try to get more followers and I'm so glad. I like knowing that the people who "follow me" actually read my blog and enjoy it. Now that I have a baby I don't really foresee myself posting more than a couple of times a week and I actually feel great about that. Quite a few blogs I read have shut down over the past year, but I still love it so I'm sticking around :)

  1. Glad you're taking it easy with blogging. I don't feel a ton of pressure to grow grow grow either. I just write about what I love and whomever reads it, bless them! ;)

  2. Thank you for sticking with it! It's so depressing when I find a blog I like, only for them to take a hiatus for a month or two or do it for a few years then stop. It's all about balance with what you want your blog to be. I actually love this outfit though. It looks really cute and like a great, comfortable weekend outfit.

  5. I'm in that stage right no - I'm trying to grow my blog but DO NOT want to do it inorganically (i.e. pay for followers) because it just feels so desperate. If people don't want to read my blog for who I am, than I'd rather not have thousands of followers. It's a lot of work and no one knows if it will pay off in the end though. So doing it for the heck of it and for fun is the best.

  6. Oh, this isn't blech at all! I think it's really cute. I have never felt the need to grow my blog. There are just too many other things going on in my life. I couldn't imagine having a blog as my full time gig. That would be so exhausting. Now, if I was in my 20s? Nah - too lazy then and now. Ha ha. I'm glad your're staying with it.

  7. Your kicks are so cute! This is such a fun outfit, it definitely says "I'm a fun mom!" And in a genuine way, not the desperate "trying too hard" way haha.

I used to really obsess about growing my blog and getting tons and tons of followers. I've learned to be content with the few people who read my blog because they are really great people. A few quality followers is better than a million who couldn't care less! I'm really glad you're sticking around!

  8. I've never commented before (on any blog, actually!), but I just want you to know I love your blog. I enjoy your funny little stories, your realistic take on life, and your kindhearted soul. You are my favorite because you are so genuine. It really shines through. "Piglet" is the cutest, by the way! I've never seen a cuter baby!

And lastly... your hair looks great above. I'd love to know how you do that. It's so wavy!

  10. Yeayyyy for skirts, bare legs, white Converse and gorgeous KS earrings. Thanks for being honest. I feel you about everything you said. I am glad you will continue to blog as I enjoy your company, honestly.

  11. Your grey tee is so nice with the printed skirt! :) it's the 'bleh' kind of outfits that give me the most inspiration actually! I like seeing what people actually wore, even when they don't find it particularly ground breaking. Really, casual every day style is my kinda style most of the time anyway! :) I'm glad you're going to keep blogging, it's good to read your little stories with your posts and like you said it's a fun diary to keep! :)

My blog is my hobby and always will be, so I'd rather have honest friendships and relationships out of it than a huge number of 'cute outfit check out my 100 links' followers ;)

  12. YAY - I'm glad you plan to stick around. I'm expecting that my blogging frequency will take a dive in the coming months, but that's okay. It kind of makes me happy that I haven't gotten a huge blog and turned it into a commitment that I will feel bad neglecting.

  14. Yay! I'm so glad you are sticking around! It bums me out so much when a blogger I love quits blogging. I mean, I totally understand that bloggers are people who need to do what's best for their families. But it's still sad when they quit blogging. So I'm glad you are sticking around!

  15. You go girl! My only blogging goal this year was to not quit. That being said, I've gotten a little more organized so I've been posting a little more than normal, but that's the thing, life comes and goes in busy waves, so when you have time, blogging is great! I'm an avid journaler as well, so I love that aspect of blogging. The most motivating thing for me as a blogger is going back and reading old posts, I love remembering what I was able to record with outfits, pictures, links, etc.

Also- I love this skirt every time you wear it, and I think I have the same tee and I LOVE it!

  16. So happy to hear you're planning to stick around in the blogging world! I'm so glad I don't have a large blog - it feels perfectly manageable to me right now and I don't have plans to grow it into anything more than it is already :)

Thanks so much for your comment! I reply to my comments via email, but I can't do that if you are a no-reply blogger (if you don't know what that means, you probably are). Check out this tutorial to fix it!
