I'm weird. Anyone who knows me would agree. It's usually a good thing (or so I tell myself). Apparently my weirdness makes me act like a child. Case in point. This vest has lots of pockets. Which is awesome. You can ditch your purse and store your phone, keys, chapstick or... chocolate. I love chocolate covered almonds and recently I was chowing down them when I was interrupted by the baby (the only person that can painlessly get away with interrupting my chocolate almond eating) so I stuck the almonds in my pocket thinking, "that will be nice to have for later." You can probably guess where this is going. I forgot about my chocolate and remembered a few weeks later when I put the vest on post-wash and found a gooey mess.

The lesson I hope you all learned today? Don't store chocolate in your pocket.

  1. The only chocolate I can have right now is sugar free pudding and sadly I can't put that in m pocket. I wish that I could.

  2. Love that necklace. I also really like your striped top. It's a little different with the double stripes and the color combo is great. Thanks for the chocolate PSA :) Sorry your almonds went through the wash. By the way, chocolate almonds sound delicious - tell me more about them!

  3. Hahaha! That's hilarious! I can honestly say I've never stored chocolate in my pocket. Then again, I've never had a baby so perhaps I will someday...

  4. I love my vest for the same reason! The pockets are amazing. You can usually find chocolate wrappers and a lense cap in mine. The chocolate doesn't last long enough to get put in the pockets.

  5. Oookkk! Sounds like a gross, gooey mess! At least you look cute. ;-)

  6. I've totally made the same chocolate mess mistake before- in a purse, in a hot car. Oops! My bag always smelled yummy after that.
This vest looks so great paired with the long necklace! Cargo style vests are some of my favorite. I need to pull mine out again now that I will be putting chunky sweaters away... finally. :)

  8. Loving this casual yet chic outfit. I'm a huge vest fan, I have a bunch in my closet. I think it adds a little extra somethin' to the outfit.

  9. Oh no! Washing chocolate is not a good plan! Was the vest salvageable? I know my sister once washed a tube of lipstick and everything was stained/ruined. So sad! Laundry is dangerous business!

  10. Oh no, I hope it didn't stay stained like the chocolate did on my white pair of new pants the other day :( cute outfit though, I like your vest.

  11. You are hilarious! I hope the vest was ok because it is super cute with that striped top! I'll keep your warning tucked away for when I have my own baby :-)

  13. I do that with jellybeans around this time of year! You really can't have too many pockets! I love that shirt and necklace by the way!

  14. haha oh dear! I think baby brain sticks around long after pregnancy! At least it was easily washed out, can't see any trace of the chocolate here! :)

A couple of times I've brought baby's food out of the freezer...twice. I'll leave one serve somewhere, only to discover it in some random place later (after already taking another serve out and putting it in the fridge to defrost) and wonder how long it's been sitting there for! I'm terrible with remembering what I was last doing before baby distracts me! :)

  15. Oh girl, if that makes you weird, then I am a looney. Just last weekend I flew home to CA and had two cupcakes in my purse (in a Ziploc) but it was still a mess! I could not convince Hunter to eat one on the plane. I always have snacks stashed everywhere and I frequently find candy/etc. in my coats when I pull them out for the Winter! Haha!

  16. Ahhh what a waste of chocolate!! I secretly hope that everyone is weird, at least a little bit, or things would be so boring. Love this look, it's a great mix of darker colors.

  17. Oh man! It happens to the best of us! When we were in college Christopher had crayons in his jeans pocket (why? I don't remember, haha!) and he dumped all his clothes in the wash together and then the dryer... and then he pulled them all out and he had melted bits of color to all of his clothes. ;)

  18. You seriously crack me up so much. Sorry about the chocolate mess. I guess I should be happy I'm allergic to it?

  19. Oh no! At least it wasn't gum or something more sticky? Hahaha this is something I would totally do. I hope it all washed out ok!
