Even though I'm essentially wearing a sweater and jeans, this outfit is a little outside my comfort zone. I don't wear a lot of reds or even browns, so combining the two is different for me. Also, I am wearing socks with ankle boots. Craaaaaazy town. On top of all of that, I am wearing my hair straight, which is not my favorite. Ironically, my hair is naturally this straight. I mean, the grass is always greener, am I right?
Another thing I must mention... Gilmore Girls. I occasionally watched it back in High School, but now that it is on Netflix, it has become my "nursing show" (which sounds really weird). I can't get over how dated some things are. A lot of the characters don't have cellphones, "show me how to use a computer" is a constant phrase, plus there are just so many slicked back ponytails (and not in a good way). It's so crazy to think about how fast things change. Deep thoughts, my friends, deep thoughts.

I LOVE this sweater and those boots and, ok well I just love the whole outfit. You look incredible! Are you sure you just had a baby?!

This is such a "wintery" outfit- love it. I don't wear red or brown too often either... not sure why. They really suit you though!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE Gilmore Girls. It's one of my very favorites shows, ever. I think I've re-watched the whole thing at least five times...
xo Always, Abby
I actually love these colors on you. I own a lot of neutral oatmeal type colors, and I'm always afraid it washes me out. I think these are making your skin look lovely. Also, I can't see the socks super well, but I own a very similar pair of smart wool socks - I love those things! They are so comfy! I wear them around my house like slippers all the time. I always want more, but can never justify spending that much on a pair of socks (I prefer the thicker ones). I think they look totally fine and kind of cool with your ankle boots. A subtle pop of color!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit looks perfectly cozy! And I never watched Gilmore Girls back in the day, but I have started watching it on Netflix and I have the exact same thoughts. It's so funny to see how much things have changed since it originally aired.
ReplyDeleteYou look GREAT!! Love those colors on you and your hair looks amazing. Maybe you should embrace the straight more often :) Gilmore Girls is always entertaining and is guaranteed to make me smile. Hope you & your little man are having a great week.
ReplyDeleteI really need to get myself a pair of no heel booties. I miss mine but my pregnant feet and his do not approve of heels. I love this look.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this outfit so much! And Gilmore Girls -- oh, Gilmore girls. It used to be on after school everyday and I got hooked. Love having it on Netflix!
ReplyDeleteI have been reliving Gilmore Girls too!! I've had some of the same thoughts you have as well. It's crazy how much has changed in a decade! I keep thinking "Did I dress like that? Yeah, I guess I did... but I thought it was cool back then! Oh no! I'm old! This is what happens!!" haha! And yes! The cellphones! There are so many parts of the show where I'm like "why doesn't she just text him to explain... or call him to find out where he is... etc etc" and then I realize that very few characters have cellphones! Crazy!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is cute, and you look absolutely fabulous! I was going to comment on how pretty your hair was, and that was before I noticed it was straightened!

You are wearing my favorite sweater and your hair looks great. I never watched Gilmore girls but I have heard great things.
ReplyDeleteYour last three photos look so sharp! I feel like I'm the only girl who doesn't watch Gilmore Girls. I've only seen a few minutes of an episode or two when it was on the air.
ReplyDeleteI like your hair straight! It's nice to have options. And I wear socks with booties too. It's just too cold for bare ankles!
ReplyDeleteI miss watching Gilmore Girls, but only saw alittle of it while in college. To me Gilmore Girls was such a stress reliever show and you make me want to watch it again. I didn't know your hair was naturally straight and that you hated reds and browns but you pulled the outfit together well and look great. Hope you are well. Rachel xo

I heart this outfit... so perfectly simple but stylish and cozy. It is a bit of a different palette for you, but so pretty! Gilmore Girls sounds like a great nursing show because there are tons of them available :) And probably a better option than Scandal or Orange is the New Black like I did - I felt like I had to cover up the baby's ears sometimes! Maybe better to expose them to something a little more tame, even if they aren't seeing the screen, ha.
ReplyDeleteI love your sweater and this cozy winter look! Your hair looks great straight!

This entire post made me laugh. You are hilarious, my stylish friend. You look so comfy cozy in that sweater too!

You look soooo good! Your hair is on fleek!
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll consider wearing these colors again because you look amazing! That sweater is adorable and your striped socks are exactly the kind you pair with ankle boots, at least I think so. Gilmore Girls is the best show on Netflix, even with the addition of Friends. I am already into season 6 and I started in November. I watch it when I'm blogging, working, bored, or anytime my boyfriend isn't in the room as all the arguing and yelling drive him nuts. (I didn't even realize there was a lot of yelling in this show until he pointed it out). It's a great show to pass the time and gets better as it goes on. I'll be sad when I've reached the end again. (I've watched every episode at least once, some SEVERAL times as I used to watch it on ABC Family when it was on twice a day in high school. They tend to repeat some more than others I've noticed.)
ReplyDeleteYou look great in this outfit! I really love the colors in your sweater and the little pop of color in your socks! And your hair looks gorgeous! I love Gilmore Girls too! I own most of the seasons on dvd but haven't watched them yet on Netflix. It's definitely on my list of shows to watch again from the beginning!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Ashley - your hair looks AMAZING here! I can't wait until my hair has grown out so that it looks like yours! :) I really like this sweater on you, too. You're just so beautiful!!
