Hi friends! I'm baaaaack! Well, for now anyway. Life with a newborn is unpredictable at best :) Thank you all for your sweet comments on the blog and social media - your kind words made us feel so loved. I fully intended to start blogging again a few weeks ago, but it just didn't happen. Eric has had the last 4 weeks off and I wanted to spend as much time with him (and the baby) as possible.
The last month has been surreal, in a really good way. First of all, a baby sleeps in my house now (and yes, I use the word "sleep" loosely). He is absolutely gorgeous (I'm biased, obviously) and so much fun. He loves to eat (I'm actually considering "Piglet" as his blog nickname because of the crazy noises he makes when he's eating) and he has started smiling (mostly for his dad). He is a daily reminder of God's amazing love and the precious gifts he has for us.
Secondly, Eric graduated a few weeks ago with his MBA! I am so proud of his hard work the past year and a half. It's honestly gone by so fast (despite living apart this summer). It's been such a fun season of life - all of his classes were in the building next to the one I work in so we would ride together and see each other multiple times during the day. He also had a lot of time at home, which was so nice. But today he starts a new job! I am sooooo excited for him, but a little bummed that our (lazy) month of being home together has ended.
Let's see... what else has happened? Oh yes, Christmas. All of a sudden it was Christmas (thank goodness I finished shopping before the babe was born). We spent nearly a week with Eric's parents, which was wonderful. We essentially did there what we had been doing at home (sitting around in our pajamas, eating good food and watching movies). It was such a special time. Then we celebrated with my family by eating finger foods, watching Thunder basketball and opening the best stockings ever. It was such a fun holiday, and having a 3 week old only made it better.
But now, my babe is a month old (!) and life is slowly starting to have a regular rhythm. These pictures give a pretty accurate description of what I'm wearing most days (though my hair usually looks like a rat slept in it). I have 6 more weeks before I go back to work and I fully intend to enjoy them and take advantage of this time with my babe - I know it will fly by! We'll see how blogging goes... I fully intend to continue to post a few times a week but I apologize in advance if I don't get to respond to you all in a timely manner. I have hated not commenting on your blogs, but know that I am reading them (usually during a 4am feeding... funsies).
P.S. If you're a blogger, you've probably heard of Firmoo before, but I want to be sure to mention them. They make really affordable glasses in lots of different shapes and styles. You can upload your picture to "try them on" which is really helpful. I think it's a great place to get glasses in a style you wouldn't normally wear, like the crazy ones I'm wearing (that I love!).
P.P.S. Apparently my child likes to stick his tongue out. He's so anti-establishment.
