*bump status: technically I am 41 weeks, but these photos were taken at 39 weeks

Okay, so. I haven't had the baby yet. Just wanted to get that out of the way. If you follow me on instagram (@creamtomycoffee), I haven't been hiding anything. As you can imagine, I'm completely over being pregnant at this point, but I am nooooot looking for sympathy (also, I'm convinced that unless you've gone close to 11 days past your due date, you have no idea what it feels like anyway). So, I've decided to share a few of the positive of things about being overdue:
  • You get to show up to Thanksgiving without bringing anything. Eric and I went to 4 Thanksgivings this year (2 with friends, 2 with family) and since they were all past our due date, no one expected us to cook anything. And we ate everything, so... muahaha.
  • People go out of their way to check on you and treat you really well. I have had so many thoughtful texts from friends and coffee dates and dinners and other great things in the past 11 days.
  • Not working. I originally planned on waiting until I went into labor to take my leave, but last week, I was just... done. I think it has been good for mentally to have a break and run errands and all of that stuff.
  • Knowing that I am providing a safe place for my baby boy to live before he enters the world. As annoying as it is that he loves hanging out in there, being pregnant is a blessing and an honor so I am trying to appreciate it as much as possible!

  3. Still in there!! He just wanted the in utero benefit of that yummy Thanksgiving I guess... Enjoy the time off - a definite perk of him being a bit late, I say. Also, I love love this outfit. Perfect colors for the season, great jacket, and such a cute & stylish way to wear Hunters. Also love ones like this that you could totally wear as maternity or not and it would be just as cute either way - perfect!

  5. Goodness! I can't believe you were going to wait until you went into labor to stop working! You are hardcore, Mommy. Not that I've ever had a baby/been pregnant, but I imagine it being pretty much the hardest thing ever...
You are still looking cute as a button, I still have a mental note in the back of my head to come here when I need maternity fashion ideas <3

  6. Ahhhh! Sending energetic thoughts to your uterus! I'm sure you need zero advice on how to start labor, but my mom swears that the hike she took the day before I was born (first baby, also overdue) jump started her labor.

  11. I'm so impressed with your positive attitude! I was wondering about you last week and did check your instagram a couple times to see if I had missed anything. I really think due dates are kind of cruel. They should give you a range like "you will probably have your baby between Nov15-Dec15" and that'd probably be more accurate! I hope you aren't feeling too miserable and also that baby decides to show up soon! And in the future, he'll probably be happy that he doesn't have a birthday that sometimes falls on Thanksgiving!

  12. I thought of you today as I was on Instagram, and wondering if baby boy had arrived yet. How exciting to have a December baby. I know it won't be long!

  13. Are you planning on making the baby come out by a specific date? Having labor induced? Or is that a private question? Sorry, I'm ignorant when it comes to the etiquette of pregnancy

  15. Maybe you aren't looking for sympathy but you have it from me! I would be the person in the doctor's office sobbing asking for them to induce me! I love how you are looking at the silver lining in it all!

Thanks so much for your comment! I reply to my comments via email, but I can't do that if you are a no-reply blogger (if you don't know what that means, you probably are). Check out this tutorial to fix it!
