*bump status: 39 weeks
This might be one of my favorite maternity outfits thus far. I've actually worn it more times than appropriate over the last few weeks. Even though the jacket looks like it shrunk in the wash (an enormous belly will do that), I really like the layered look and that sweater feels like silk, it's so soft. Even though I am totally over being pregnant at this point, I'll be sad to give up a few of my new favorite clothing items.
I will also be sad to give up the random (sometimes strange) compliments from strangers. Fortunately, I haven't dealt with any of the weird/slightly mean comments that I have heard so much about (probably due the fact that I do not look like I am about to pop). Here's what I have heard so far:

- "Oh my God, you are the cutest person in the entire world" - Target employee I then had to convince to let me return used gift bags (it worked).
- "Aren't you adorable?" Lots of random people, and two strangers whom then patted my belly.
- "You look great - you should have a million babies" - To which I have no idea what to say. I usually just say "haha, thanks" but what are they wanting me to say? "I only plan on having a few?" "A million seems like too many?" Not sure the appropriate response to that one.

Bahhaa! I can't believe some of the things people say to you!

I love this outfit combo. You are lucky you haven't gotten any of the mean comments. People are constantly telling me how huge I look and can't believe I am only 22 weeks because I look much bigger. On another note.... when people tell me I have my hands full already and adding another is crazy I say "what can I say, I find my husband sexy". I love the stunned expressions on their faces.
ReplyDeleteA million babies! Haha! You do look adorable!
ReplyDeleteHilarious! People always amaze me. I'm with you, this is probably my favorite outfit you have worn too! Love it!

It's very true though. You are one adorable preggo lady! While I don't recommend having a million, I do think one or two would be advisable. I love that sweater so much! All the layers. So hip!
ReplyDeleteI really like this look and might just have to recreate it! And yay for getting only nice compliments! Though I love the 'a million seems like too many' response and feel like you should definitely use it! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat last comment is hilarious! I wouldn't have known what to say either. This is such a cute outfit! I love the layers and your jacket!

yeah a million might be too hard ;) but seriously you are probably the cutest pregnant person I ever did see.
ReplyDeleteI love how trendy this whole look is and that you can totally still rock it at 39 weeks girl!! You are too cute :)

Some people are so clueless but at least they're nice compliments. You do look pretty good for 39 weeks!
ReplyDeleteYou are too cute in this outfit. Great sweater. Yes a million babies sounds like a ton lol. Good luck with giving birth. Hope it is all smooth for you.
ReplyDeleteOhhh random quotes are my favorite and always make an appearance on my blog/journal. You really are an adorable, comfortable looking pregnant person (comfortable as in- totally the same as usual, just with your belly. Not the best word choice. You know what I mean?) If I were you I would definitely think of a weird sassy response to the "million babies" "compliment" (I suppose that is a compliment!)
ReplyDelete♥ perfectly Priya
LOL people say the most awkward things sometimes! Its like how am I to respond to this haha.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely outfit! You look great & that necklace is so pretty :)

Well you ARE an adorable momma, no wonder you are getting so many compliments! Soak them all in before the little guy arrives and steals your spotlight =)
ReplyDeleteHaha! So glad you are getting compliments! I remember the one time another teacher said I was getting BIG and I may or may not have cried. Soon they will be complimenting your little one and those compliments feel even better! :)
ReplyDeleteCute outfit! Great layering!

Lol, oh man I got plenty of weird comments during both my pregnancies and unfortunately some mean ones too! Good thing you haven't come across that! This is such a great outfit on you, I see why you would wear it a lot.

Well, you ARE so cute! What a great sweater. And though it felt weird to be so conspicuous at times, I did kind of miss the nice comments from being pregnant...but not to worry, you'll still get non-stop comments after delivery - they'll just all be about the baby :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so adorable! I love that sweater and the necklace. Also, I think the slightly strange comments are too funny!

Too funny! People. Haha. Love that necklace!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with the strangers, pregnancy looks very good on you. Have noticed in the last several posts, you really look terrific.
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit... and that necklace!! People feel the need to say the strangest things to pregnant women... I just don't get it!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't want to give up that sweater!! Is it bad if I'm considering leaving some maternity items in my closet if I try them back on and they don't scream maternity shirt and just look oversized? :) Too funny with the stranger comments! Although I knew everyone had good intentions when making comments about my belly in that last month, it was really hard to smile about it when I was so over being pregnant. But you know what's 10x more awesome than nice strangers commenting on you? Nice strangers commenting on how cute your newborn is! :) Hope things are going well!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE these layers! You are so gorgeous, Ashley!
ReplyDelete"you should have a million babies!" hahaha! Oh goodness, what DOES one say to a compliment like that? ;) You do look great, though! And your style is adorable as always. I love that necklace! :)
