Three things for Monday:
1. It snowed yesterday in Oklahoma, which is crazy. We never get snow in November. I don't mind snow, but I'm a little apprehensive of spending a cold winter inside with a newborn. I spent most of the day curled up on the couch with Winston, wearing sweatpants, watching episodes of friends, so it was pleasant, but still bizzare.
2. On Saturday, Eric and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary! It may or may not have snuck up on us... I actually didn't even remember until Eric brought home flowers the day before. Obviously, we are thinking about a lot so we don't feel too terrible for forgetting. We ended up having a great day - we saw Interstellar in the iMax (so intense) and had sushi take out at home. I'm not going to lie... I'm kind of glad baby didn't come on our actual anniversary :)
3. The cold weather really makes me want to decorate for Christmas, but I have really strong principles about decorating for the holidays before Thanksgiving. I'm on such an emotional roller coaster about this, you guys :) Thoughts?

Go ahead and decorate now! Might be hard to get done once the baby comes. (It's so soon! How exciting!)
ReplyDeleteCute dress! I always wait until the day after Thanksgiving to decorate but you should probably do it now so you don't have to try to fit it in later.

I obviously don't care about Thanksgiving, being Australian, but my mum never put the tree up before December 1st, so that's how I roll. Seeing as you're pregnant and baby is gonna come any day now.. I'd say decorate ;) Love the dress!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect weekend!! I'm also opposed to decorating for Christmas before Thanksgiving, BUT you may want to make an exception to the rule since you are a "ticking time bomb" :) It would be nice to come home from the hospital to a decorated house. You could delay it until after Thanksgiving if you have a team of family/friends that would do it for you after you have the baby! Could be a brilliant idea if you don't mind people doing it for you.
ReplyDeleteOh, I remember the days before our first was born. We had so many "last dinners." It was hilarious. Happy Anniversary! You might want to wait until baby comes to decorate. You might feel all sweet an nostalgic with him hanging out by the tree as you trim it.
ReplyDeleteI'm all about *harvest* decorations before Thanksgiving and then Christmas decorations afterwards. So you can decorate. Just do the harvest theme. But with the baby and all, I'm not sure if a double duty of decorating is in your best interest. That's my two cents at least.
ReplyDeleteI also really like this outfit. I loved the dress even before I saw the detail, but wow! Those dots are perfect! You look so wonderful and pretty and glowy in one! Also, we were supposed to get 1-3". I think we got .05"? So disappointing.
I say go ahead and decorate! Especially since baby will be here soon and then you may not get much time to decorate! And ohmygoodness... 39 weeks ALREADY?! It seems like you just announced you were pregnant.
ReplyDeleteThis dress though... it's perfect. And your little belly button showing through has got to be the cutest thing. :P
I'm pretty strict on waiting to put up Christmas decorations after Thanksgiving, but I would give you special permission this year, since you might be too busy to put the Christmas stuff up when you have a new little person to take care of! Honestly, we didn't even put up Christmas decorations last year (and probably won't this year), because we travel to see family, and I just don't have the energy to decorate for just us!
ReplyDeleteYou are stunning in this dress! And the necklace is gorgeous as well! Http://morepiecesofme.com
ReplyDeleteLove the dress! I have no problem decorating for Christmas early!! The more time the decorations are up, the better! :) But with a baby coming, we probably won't decorate much this year... too much work. :)
ReplyDeleteDecorate now. You may not have the time to do it later. We put up our tree this weekend because we're going to be out of town and I want it done for when we get back. Only the tree is up. We still need to take out all of the decorations. We'll put those up by this weekend. And love, love that dress and necklace. What a pretty color!
ReplyDeleteI 100% celebrate one holiday at a time, even though this morning we had a "holiday launch" in the office where we gave out invitations for our holiday party. Otherwise, I'm celebrating Thanksgiving ONLY!
ReplyDeleteI feel totally silly saying this- but I can't believe your baby is due any day now. I mean, I haven't been the one pregnant, but it seems like it's gone WAY fast. And you've looked great and super stylish the whole time, so I almost haven't noticed a difference. But I just know that next time I read your blog the little one is gonna be here! That is so exciting!!
Also- how are you still getting away without tights? It is so so stinkin' cold here, I am way out of sorts because I don't know where any of my stuff is. I'm ready for well-prepared, well-thought out Winter outfits (for myself, you look super cute.) I hope you are feeling great!!

This snow is kind of making me want to put the tree up, too. We are traveling for Thanksgiving so I might make an argument for myself to get the tree up this weekend, but we shall see! I love this dress on you! The print is so pretty! Happy anniversary to you both, too!
ReplyDeleteI prefer to wait until after Thanksgiving also to decorate. Happy Anniversary! Your dress is so pretty and the color looks great on you!

You look incredible !Not long to go now, how exciting! :) Happy anniversary too! :)
ReplyDeleteI had my baby boy in winter here in Australia - it's great, truly! Perfect snuggle on the sofa with baby weather, you will enjoy it! Although being honest it does make late night feeds less pleasant having to get out of a cosy warm bed, haha. But snuggle time is extra special when it's keeping you both cosy :)

I can't believe you still look SO amazing at 39 weeks!! Baby must know it's too cold to come yet, right? Glad you enjoyed your anniversary.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you - my husband wants to decorate this upcoming weekend for Christmas but I refuse until at least Thanksgiving day (after all the cooking, hosting and eating first of course!) We have this disagreement every year lol!
But seriously, back to you - I love this blue and black combo on you! What a great dress!!

Your due date is so soon! You look fantastic and I need those shoes... actually I need a lot of your maternity clothes. Thank God I read your blog, because it has inspired me to be less of a slobby dresser this pregnancy. I can't wait for the post saying your sweet baby has arrived! Have fun with your last days before baby. I know they are long, but they are a special time.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary to you and Eric! It sounds like you had a relaxing but fun day :) I'm typically the same about Christmas decorations but as we were unpacking boxes, I came across the few decorations I have and had to put them up. Plus Goodwill has been having such cheap decorations, I can't help myself! So we decorated a few weeks early. The snow made me do it!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated anniversary to you and Eric, Ashley! It sounds like you had a great celebration pre-baby! I am so excited to hear the news of your baby being born...if you haven't already had him, it should be any day now, right??
