Maternity Style: Remixing a Summer Dress

dress: asos (similar) (similar non-maternity) // sweater: ny&co (similar) // watch: fossil //
necklace: charming charlie's (similar) // shoes: dolce vita (similar)

*bump status: 35 weeks

Today I am remixing this great ASOS maternity dress. At this point, I'm obviously trying not to buy any new clothes, so layers are my best friend. Unfortunately it's also been 85 degrees every day in Oklahoma this week, so layers are kind of my worst enemy. I love a good dichotomy.

Can I talk about Winston for a minute? This is Winston, for those of you who aren't familiar:

Winston is a 93lb ball of fur, who is (obviously, from the picture) a big part of our family. Lately he has been acting like a nut. He wants to go outside every 5 minutes, he is eating sporadically, and he swallowed an entire pair of underwear this past weekend (yes, mine). I'm pretty sure he is anticipating a big change coming, and I kind of feel sorry for him. He is a (giant) baby, so I don't think he is excited about there being another baby in the house. He is a big fan of the blog, so I thought I'd give him a little love :)

  1. This is such a cute look, really love they grey booties and cardi against the red stripes!! Hope you are having a great week:)

  2. This combo is perfection! I love the red stripes and gray together. I have a drapey sweater like this that I've literally been wearing at some point once a day. Aw, Winston is such a sweetie! I am in awe that he ate an entire pair of underwear. I think he's gonna be a great older brother :)

    ♥ perfectly Priya

  3. aw poor Winston. My oldest cat acted a bit weird the last couple of days and I was so worried. She seems back to normal now, so hopefully Winston stops eating underwear, cause that sucks.

  4. Love your winter version! Poor Winston. Dogs are so intuitive. Bummer about the undies... ha!

  5. Is Winston a labradoodle? My mom's poodle goes nuts any time anything changes. Last time they moved he didn't eat for four days. So it could be the poodle in him. Gotta love em but they're nuts. He will love the new baby though I'm sure. I'm excited to see a family that doesn't just give up their dog when the baby comes. It's hard for me to understand that, but I also don't have any children.
I do love that dress on you. The stripes are the best.

  6. I own a non maternity version of this dress and love it. You look great Ash and Winston is an adorable ball of fluff.

  7. Oh I love the red stripes! Alex

  8. 93 lb?! wow...what a big ball of sweetness! funny how dogs (and other animals) can sense change. poor thing :)
love those boots - they look comfy.

  9. Winston is 93 lbs? He is adorable! I'm sure he senses something is going on. You look adorable as usual! I love the red stripes!

  10. Oh my goodness, your dog is so adorable!! I want a cute ball of fur just like him!

  11. Hi Winston! :D I'm sure he's be fine once he's acclimated to another baby in the house .... Dogs are usually more maternal than other household pets so he might end up being protective of your little nugget <3

Cute outfit! I love a striped dress and a big cardigan. Layer away!

  12. What a cutie! It's always hard for pets since they don't understand the change, but I am sure he will get used to it eventually!

  13. What an adorable outfit! Your doggie is so so cute =)

    Fashion, Floss and Lip Gloss

  14. oh my goodness, this is seriously the cutest outfit ever. You look darling, love. If you get a moment, I'd love to hear your thoughts on my latest. :) xx

  15. You're really rocking that dress! You look adorable!

  16. Oh my gosh Ashley! Your bump has grown so much in the past few weeks!! I can't believe you only have about 5 weeks to go. Crazy! I love your layered look but hear you about the heat. It's still much too warm to cover more than necessary. Vests are your best bets I think!

  17. 93 lbs of PURE LOVE. I'm sure Winston will get along with the baby. He's probably acting weird because he can tell his mama is getting close!

On a creepier note, I decided to see when you started this blog, so I archived all the way back to the very beginning. What did I discover? That Eric wanted to name it "blogging while we poop." Which made me LOL, because I am not an adult.

  18. You look gorgeous and glowing (as always!) And Winston is such a cutie! Poor guy is a little jealous it sounds! Perhaps ordering him a PetBox or a new bone might help!? (I mean doesn't bribery always work?!)

  19. I LOVE this look! So beautiful!! Also, these photos are beautiful. You look like a magazine model. :) Also, Winston is adorable. Some of our friends have a Goldendoodle and he is absolutely precious. He usually just gets into food (most recently eating a whole bag of bagels - yikes!). Hopefully Winston will adjust well to coming changes! :)

Hi, by the way! I stumbled across your blog from Allison's (Nestful of Love). :)

  20. you have an adorable bump and the red stripes look GREAT!

  21. Aww, poor Winston! I have a few friends whose pups have anticipated the change of adding a baby to the family as well - it's crazy how intuitive they can be, right?! I hope that once your little man comes, Winston will find him to be a buddy :)

  22. 93 lbs?! Wow, he does not look that big. That's my two dogs put together! On a side note, I've wondered if it's worse to be pregnant in the dog days of summer or in super cold cold cold. I'm leaning towards the former, but you just look so adorable in your dress and booties :)

  23. I love your maternity style! I just found your blog and I want to wish you congratulations!!! I host a weekly real mom street style linkup on Tuesdays and I would love to have your join if you can! When I was pregnant I did not look this good!
