tunic: f21 // jeans: pea in the pod (similar non-maternity) //
*bump status: 28 weeks
Three things came to mind while posting these pictures:
1. I have been wearing way too much mustard lately. I don't know if it's because I'm secretly ready for fall even though it's 97 degrees here and I spent all of yesterday at the pool. Or maybe it's because mustard is such a good condiment. So much flavor for so few calories, you guys.
2. I bought a pair of gray maternity jeans a few months ago and they are awesome. Actually, I'm kind of annoyed because I don't own a pair of regular gray jeans and these are almost like false-wardrobe advertising. Every time I wear them I think, "enjoy these gray jeans now, because you won't be able to wear them by January because you are obviously going to fit back into your pre-pregnancy clothing immediately."
3. I'm in my THIRD trimester! How the $@!? did that happen? I had my 28-week appointment last week and Baby Boy is doing great. He's measuring right on track, has a great heartbeat and is kicking like a champ. So thankful to still be feeling great.
Happy September, friends!

wait, what?! 3rd trimester? that shit cray. but mustard looks fabulous on you, and my friend's baby is almost 2 and she is still in her maternity jeans, so.... zero shame.

I'm in a mustard mood already, too! Although I've been looking for a new mustard cardigan (and I'm being pretty picky about the cut) but I can't find the right one anywhere. Is mustard out this year? I hope not!
ReplyDeleteWow! I can't believe your in your third trimester already! Mustard is the perfect fall color and I love it with the gray jeans!

It's so good to hear that the little guy is growing and developing right on schedule. I've always really like the color combination of grey and mustard. And I'm still on the hunt for a great pair of grey jeans. I haven't had much luck yet.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you're in the 3rd trimester! Holy cow! I love mustard! Wearing it today, actually, and I can't wait to break in my mustard pants! I don't own gray jeans either, but I think I need to!
ReplyDeleteGray and mustard are such a great combo! I know what you mean, I'm craving fall too! Don't get me wrong, I love summer but I'm reading to break out my boots and sweaters (although there's no way that's happening before we move!)
ReplyDeleteMustard and gray - one of my favorite color combinations. I absolutely love how the shirt looks with the jeans!
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to fall, in part because of the fashion options, and then every fall I realize that I hate my fall wardrobe - I'm always either too hot or too cold. The DC area does not have a great in between phase for weather - it's hot until Halloween, and then all of a sudden it's cold. For gray pants - I got these great pants (http://www.uniqlo.com/us/product/women-leggings-pants-128879.html#03|/women/bottoms/leggings-pants/color/|) from Uniqlo sometime in the spring. They feel just like leggings, but they have seams and pockets like jeans. They are amazing.
ReplyDeleteSo great that you are breezing through your pregnancy! It's also nice that you'll get to go through the 3rd trimester - notoriously uncomfortable in the heat of summer - in the nice, cool, fall months!
Haha that's what I think of every time I eat mustard :) I really like this outfit! You can't go wrong with mustard ever in my opinion! One of my favorite colors! I was just making a mental list of things I'm looking for for Fall and gray skinnies are on the top of my list! They look awesome and definitely go with everything!
ReplyDeleteMustard is the perfect Fall color! And I love it with grey! Great color combo! You're going to need to get grey jeans for after you have the baby! They are a must!

Third trimester? Wowzers! You're almost there :) I can't believe you were by the pool recently - and I can't believe the entire summer went by and I only spent three days poolside? Thanks a lot, research.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on reaching your 3rd! You look great in mustard and it's one of my favorite colors too!

Wow! Third trimester. It will go by so fast. I am really liking mustard lately too.
ReplyDeleteI loved my grey maternity cords. They go with so much! I love how yours look with mustard. And if that's the excuse you need to continue wearing mustard, just go with it!
ReplyDeleteThere's no such thing as too much mustard. That necklace is super cute. The university I work for school colors are garnet and gold and this outfit would be perfect for a casual Friday. I may have to straight up copy this look, love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite color combinations! I love your jeans--I have been wanting a pair of gray jeans for a while now.
ReplyDeleteAshley, you look lovely! Mustard suits you rather well, and I absolutely love how you've combined a loose mustard top with gray skinnies and that fun necklace- chic! Also, love the glow on your face, and I quite like how you look with your hair pulled back. Great to hear that the little one is doing great (inside). :)
ReplyDeleteCheers!
I love the mustard and the grey! Third trimester?! Wow! Time is flying by. You look beautiful pregnant. I wore grey jeans yesterday. The top had a mustard stripe. I must have been channeling your style vibes.
ReplyDeleteJenni
That's it! I have GOT to get my hands on grey pants!
ReplyDeleteThat bump is getting so cute! Love the grey and mustard combo. Maybe I need grey jeans too. :)

Where have you purchased your maternity pants? I haven't found any yet but it's getting to the point where I can't pull off only wearing skirts/dresses or my own pants with a belly band.
ReplyDeleteOld Navy's midrise Rockstars in gray are awesome, so you should check them out when you're in the market for a non-maternity pair :)
ReplyDeleteMustard is such a great color! I would love to add a mustard cardigan to my closet. I have an old sweater that I am debating cutting into one...I've seen it done but I don't know that I trust myself with that! I think this tunic was a great buy!
ReplyDeleteWishing you really great busy days that aren't too stressful!
♥ perfectly Priya
AH! I love this outfit so much! I had a mustard cardigan, but it was really boxy and I didn't like how it looked on me...so now I don't have anything mustard :( I love how this blouse looks with the gray pants, too! You look so stinkin cute. So exciting that you're in your 3rd trimester already, too - are you getting excited for your boy to get here??
ReplyDeleteThat combo is beautiful and I should try it. I only have one pair of Gray Jeans but love mine. You look awesome in mustard by the way and I always love mustard paired with gold jewelry. So your new chevron necklace looks great against the pretty blouse. =)
