Do you have to wear suits at work? I am fortunate that I usually don't have to dress too formally, but every once in a while I have a presentation or something where I need to look like I didn't just roll out of bed that morning (even if I probably did). I have a black pair of black pants that I wear with this blazer when I want to actually look legit, but I had fun mixing it up with this bright pencil skirt and polka dot combo. Suit-y but not a suit.

In other news, last night Eric and I spent the evening with some of our favorite friends, Colt & Claire. One of the things that I love about them is that they love food. We ate amazing steaks, salad and I made PW's Potatoes au Gratin let's just say I could barely get out of bed this morning. It might have been a little too much of a splurge for a Tuesday night, honestly. Whew.

  4. Love this look! I'm with you - I'm SO glad I don't have to wear a suit everyday, but it can be fun to dress it up a bit for special events. This is seriously perfect.

Those potatoes look delicious! I adore any form of potato + dairy...must be the Irish in me.

  8. I wear non-suits and outfits that look like suits ALL THE TIME. As a matter of fact I am wearing a pencil skirt, blouse and blazer as we speak. It will be posted on the blog sometimes within the next 2 weeks since I am always behind with outfit-posting. And that steak and salad sounds awesome. If I could only live on 2 foods total, those would be the 2 foods I'd choose, any day.

Did you check out my Collaboration Post today? Hope you liked how I styled the Floral. And thanks for following Amy Ann too. She was an awesome co-host with me and has a great blog. =)

    Happy Hump Day, Ada. =)

  10. I have that shirt! I usually pair with with black skinny pixie pants, because I am not creative with my clothing. I love the bright skirt with it, though. I might have to give that a shot!

  12. Ashley, thank you so much for stopping by my blog! When I saw your comment, I did not connect the dots. Emily and Jon Odom are two of our best friends. Emily told me about your blog, and I have stopped by many times. So happy to connect with you and follow you. I also work at OU in Tulsa. I think we have a lot in common! :)

  15. I love separates. I used to have to wear suits for client presentations and I had a really hard time buying off the rack without alterations. Now, I just work from home and rarely have to dress up. It's so nice. I love what you put together with the bright pink. It's fun and professional.

  17. Yes! I love wearing a skirt and blazer for more dressed up occasions that don't quite call for a full-on suit. That potato recipe looks amazing!

  22. I used to always 'non-suit' it at work. I think any combo of skirt, blouse and blazer works well, and blazer over a dress, those were good times...

Thanks so much for your comment! I reply to my comments via email, but I can't do that if you are a no-reply blogger (if you don't know what that means, you probably are). Check out this tutorial to fix it!
