My strategy (if you can call it that) for writing something to accompany outfit photos is to write the morning of posting (a few days after the picture has been taken) and talk about whatever pops into my mind. Usually I'm not thinking about clothes, but I feel obligated to throw something in there ("this is my one nice work black dress and it goes with anything. Including my striped blazer that I bought from a friend for $5!"). Then I just talk about whatever sounds right on Wednesday morning. And today, that is my hair.
My hair has been looking janky in photos for... months. I usually get it cut about every six months and it is way past time. I have an appointment tomorrow and let's just say I'm over it. I thought I would enjoy it long because "There are all these awesome ways to fix it! Braids! Twists! Rolls!" But I don't ever do any of those. I am definitely just a

I'm with you on the hair. I wish I could braid sooooo much. I tried the other night, and it looks terrible, but I'm going to keep trying. Happy Haircut!

OHMYGOD yes with that hair. seriously, short hair looks so freaking cute on you, i can't even.
ReplyDeletei used to have gorgeous long hair, and it looked amazing when it was down and straight, but thats all i could ever do. it wouldnt hold a curl, looked stupid in a bun, i can't braid... i got it cut to my shoulders and i like it between there and a little bit longer (like where it is now). i'm not a fancy hair do-er but i do like my buns haha.
That short haircut is so cute! I'm always so lazy when I grow out my hair too -- totally understand the wash-and-go :)
ReplyDeleteHi> Love the black and white. Your hair looks pretty.. I am due for a cut. Your look is classic.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous blazer! You look beautiful!

I like your outfit. It looks cool and chic. I love your hair. I always think it looks so good! I hope you keep it long! Just my two cents.

You're so funny! I have totally been feeling the same way. I have an appointment next week, thank goodness! Can't wait to see what you decide.

I love that blazer! I need it in my life!

My main thought when I read this post: I'm really glad I'm not the only person who uses the word janky. I feel ya on the hair though. My appointment isn't for a few more weeks and I just want to get it cut now.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all you look awesome. I was recently given (c/o) a very similar blazer, albeit mine is dressier. I have already worn it over a black dress once, for a job interview and with my Patent Leather Black Pumps. Great minds think alike, I tell you.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, I totally hear you about the hair. I, too, am lazy when it comes to it. You should definitely go to the cute full bob. It looks awesome with all the waves: girly, fun and chic.

Ohhh and I loved seeing you on Amy's Blog for our collaboration post. I swear, I had hand-picked you as one of my chosen ones as well and so had Amy so I let her "have you" LOL. You should check out the ladies with the Statement Dresses in my post. Thanks. =)
DeleteLove that striped blazer! So cute with the pin - I have one from Stella and Dot too that I need to bring out again soon. I think your hair looks great long, but the bob is super cute too!

I would vote for short hair, but I am a short hair girl myself, so I am biased. I've gone full on pixie more than once, because once my hair grows too much past my shoulders I decide that it's too much trouble and I hate it and it needs to go. That being said, I am totally jealous of people who can grow long, thick, hair. I just can't. My hair is very fine and straight, so if it gets too long it looks really limp and straggly. Currently I'm growing it out from a pixie, and it's shoulder length. You are lucky that you can do both! I 100% understand the feeling of being sick of long hair and needing to get rid of it, so I think you should go for it.
ReplyDeleteI just chopped off a bunch of my hair and I'm loving it! I, too, was over how much work it was to wash and deal with long, curly hair...and this makes me feel a lot better. Go for the short look!
ReplyDeletethis striped blazer is super cute! in terms of your hair, i think it's all about what you're happy with!! i had short hair once and i could not style it no matter how hard i tried. my long hair can be a pain in the butt, but it's definitely easier for me to maintain. i think you look nice with both lengths!

What a great blazer! Your pin is super cute too! I haven't cut my hair in forever and it really needs it, but I'm so bad at remembering to call for an appointment. Maybe once school is out in a few weeks! :)
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, I LOVE your shorter hair! It's so perfect! I'm in the process of veerrrrrryyy slowly growing out my pixie cut, and my eventual goal (for now) is to have it look like your shorter hair :) The slightly-longer-than-chin-length wavy bob is my favorite :)
ReplyDeleteI loved your short hair look, I had to look hard to be sure it was you lol you looked like a different person. I love haircuts, have fun getting pampered and can't wait to see your new do. Nice LBD I am wearing mine this weekend :)
ReplyDeleteI love the shorter hair but you seriously look good either way. I go back and forth with wanting to grow it and then I get impatient and cut it and then wish for longer hair. Is anyone happy with their current hair??
ReplyDeleteAfter watching so much What Not to Wear lately, I feel like the trick is getting a haircut where the stylist does it in such a way that makes the wash and go end up looking great. Or is this just TV playing games with us?
ReplyDeleteNice blazer!
