A picture from my week: Winston helped celebrate a friend's birthday.
Here are some of the interesting things I found on the internet this week:
- I really enjoyed reading Elsie's thoughts on blogging as an industry. I have no desire to turn my blog into a career at this point (and let's be honest, my blog is totally mediocre) but I love blogging and I read a lot of blogs, so I found it interesting.
- Faux-leather monogrammed coasters. I'm actually not a big monogram fan, but these coasters are awesome. And they totally look like real leather. They would make an awesome gift!
- Who has a pear shaped body (I am raising my hand right now)? My friend Julie wrote a great post about dressing a pear shape with lots of great visual examples. If you've got a big butt and a small waist (again, raising hand) this post is for you!
- I am trying so hard not to shop right now, but I am loving the dresses with little cut-outs in the back. Dressy but not too flashy. And of course Forever 21 has some great ones at great prices. This cut-out maxi is $19.80 and the cut-out midi dress is $22.80.
- Anyone else get the Spring Cleaning bug? Last weekend Eric and I completed a bunch of annoying tasks we never do like washing the curtains, cleaning the windows and mopping under rugs. I have been following along with Jen in her one month to a cleaner home series and while I haven't necessarily been able to keep up, I have been inspired.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Linking up: 5 on Friday & Happy Medley
Aw, you're super sweet for including me on this list!! Let the big butts/small waists support group begin (I'm still cracking up at your description) :) Um, Winston is adorable as always (must.meet.him.) and those cutout dresses are looking pretty cute. Hope you have a wonderful weekend, I'll be stalking you on Instagram as always ;)
ReplyDeleteAnnoying tasks are just that - annoying! I know that we need to do some major spring cleaning - curtain and window washing is among them. Also, need to wash the grout in our tile kitchen floor. Beyond annoying! Lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up

I've definitely gotten the bug for some spring cleaning, but I feel like I need to put it off until it actually feels like spring. I like to have the windows open to air out the house when I do my spring cleaning and it's still way too cold for that!
ReplyDeleteYayyy! Finally, another blogger that is pear shaped like me. I feel like most of the blogs I read post fashion tips or inspiration for girls without curves, which is fine, but it doesn't help me out at all. I love the dresses! I will be heading to F21 this weekend!
ReplyDeleteLOVE those dresses - and that cute pup! Spring cleaning doesn't even cover this feeling I've been having - NOTHING is clean enough. I've developed OCD in the last week. Happy Friday!

Those dresses are gorgeous! I really need to get my Spring Cleaning done soon. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI actually wish I was pear or hourglass shaped! I have like no curves and broad shoulders so things tend to hang weirdly on me. The grass is always greener I guess! Good luck with all your cleaning. I am ok at keeping things clean, but so bad at deep cleaning and doing windows, mattress covers, etc.!
ReplyDeleteGrass is greener, indeed! I am straight up and down from my toes to my ribs, big on top, and then narrow shoulders. Clothing that fits my waist and hips usually doesn't fit my boobs! It's hard not be frustrated and want someone else's body shape.
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge clean freak, but there are some annoying tasks that I just. cannot. bring. myself. to. do (hello, dust on blinds!). I guess spring cleaning is the time to take care of that!
Hi! I came over from Rachel's blog. I love your blog title! It is brilliant. Who doesn't like coffee? :) Actually, I am putting off spring cleaning. My husband and I are buying our first house in two weeks, so I will be cleaning and painting a new house, and cleaning and moving out of our apartment. We are accepting volunteer applications...:) Just teasing.
ReplyDeleteThose dresses are adorable and your doggie is so cute!! I thought I was the only one with the spring cleaning bug, but I'm hoping to tackle some of it this weekend. Have a great weekend!

Love the dresses! I need a tan so my cut out doesn't shock anyone, but I like the look.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend :)
Yes, and yes... I am trying to not spend $ either... but I've failed totally these last couple of weeks! I have jumped into spring cleaning, but I get this itch to, like redecorate too, which just creates a larger mess for me to 'spring clean' up!

I enjoyed this very much and I am now heading over to read that article on blogging. Those dresses from F21 are great too, especially the Midi one. Take Care & Happy Weekend!!
ReplyDeleteThose dresses are super cute! I just checked out Julie's post, and I think it is great. It makes me feel better to know there are other pears out there. Also, I don't think your blog is mediocre... but this is coming from someone whose blog is actually mediocre :)
ReplyDeleteI love those dresses! Great color and silhouettes.
ReplyDeleteIs Winston a Goldendoodle?? He looks so much like ours! They're the best dogs!!
ReplyDeleteThis is the cutest dog ever !!! The pale pink maxi dress is lovely ! Such a good price too… I will have to go and try it on !

a. your blog is NOT mediocre...I love reading it and I think it's lovely. b. I loved julie's blog post about pear shapes...Im not an actual pear (does the bottom half count? lol) but enjoyed reading nonetheless. c. I need to clean so bad...I have too much stuff in my dressers that I can't really close any of the drawers. It's time to get rid of more stuff!!
ReplyDeleteI've had the spring cleaning bug SO much lately. I cleaned up my space at work (long overdue) and spent a ton of time doing my closet recently...oh, and cleared out some shelves and re-organized things that I didn't know I had!
