blouse: h&m // necklace: Versona (see options below) // jeans: f21 (similar) // shoes: born

Let's talk about outfit flops, shall we? I wouldn't necessarily call this outfit a total flop or anything, but now that I am looking at it, I just don't love the way the jeans fit (too baggy) and the I think the shoes look weird. It's also strange looking at this outfit because these were taken last week, before it was 19 degrees and the ground was covered in snow.

I flop outfits A LOT, but most of them you don't see on the blog. I try to snap pictures of my outfits on my phone (p.s. I love the cloth app for keeping track of what I wear), but I've even been known to wear a flop for a second time. I enjoy clothes for the fact that it's fun to get dressed in the morning, but really it's not that big of a deal. I like to look cute as much as the next person, but if I don't, life is still good, you know?

So what about you? Do ever have outfit flops? Do you care? Do you keep track of what you wear to make sure you never wear the same thing twice?

  6. oh, man! never wearing the same outfit twice? the whole reason i blog about my outfits is so i can remember and re-wear outfits that are flattering or reference them when i'm having a difficult time picking out an outfit! as a bonus, i have started to notice things that aren't as flattering on me as i think they are, and also become more adventurous when things are more flattering than i anticipate! all that is to say, yes, i definitely wear flops! and no, it doesn't really bother me. as you say, life is still good, whether my outfit is or not!

i, too, love the statement necklace!

  7. I have a pair of jeans that I keep, knowing they are a flop. I can't even believe it, but darn it... they are comfy. And they have a higher waist, which is hard to find in a decent cut. So these are mediocre high waisted comfy jeans. I think of them as my equivalent of "weekend jeans". I'd say boyfriend jeans, but they only wish they were that cool.

  8. Oh yes I wear flops and I have shown/show most of the flops on the blog. I usually don't wear the same identical outfit twice and even if I do, shoes, some type of accessory or jewelry will change. Sometimes that is done on purpose and other times not. I am pretty good about remembering outfits, especially ones that have made it to the blog. I have a photographic memory.

I agree about the shoes here, they look kind of weird. Maybe a low-heeled pump? Or Almond-Toe Nude Pumps. The necklace is gorgeous as are all the 3 options from Forever 21 you showed us.

And, I had a special request I commented about on your last post. Please grant it to me. Thank you. =)

  11. Oh I have that same necklace in different colors. Yeah, I have outfit flops, most of them don't go on my blog, but some do just to show that I'm a real human and I don't always look impeccable all the time. I don't think this outfit is a flop at all! And I really do think it looks great on you. Sometimes a simple look with one statement piece can be awesome - and you don't have a bunch of stuff competing against each other. I am guilty of over-doing it sometimes.

  12. I think we all have outfit flops, its completely normal! Though I don't think this is one. I love the color of your top against your statement necklace. The cuff on your jeans is potentially at a height that could shorten the look of the legs, but you look tall enough to pull it off (or you have long legs!). Either way, it's simple and chic!

  14. Um, I would say 3/5 of my weekly outfits are flops. Whatevs. I wouldn't call your outfit a flop. I was actually going to say that I could copy this outfit because I have a similar shirt and a similar necklace! I'm happy you posted this outfit :)

  16. Ashley, to me this outfit seems to be far from flop. I love how the bright necklace looks against the muted olive shirt. The blue bits in the necklace bookend the blue jeans. And the coral pops beautifully against the shirt. I also like the use of tan belt and berry flops! I'd say it's a hit outfit.

  17. I wouldn't call that outfit a total flop. My eyes were drawn to the top and necklace and those looked great! I totally have flops too! We all do!

  18. Those are great necklaces! Oh yes, to the outfit flops! I don't keep track, but I pretty much remember what I wear. I like to mix it up... I rarely wear the same things together...
    Hope you are well!

Thanks so much for your comment! I reply to my comments via email, but I can't do that if you are a no-reply blogger (if you don't know what that means, you probably are). Check out this tutorial to fix it!
