blazer: purchased from a friend (similar) // floral tank: h&m (similar) // jeans: old navy (similar)
// booties: dolce vita (similar) // necklace: f21 (similar)
As I'm sure you gathered from the post title, I've had another post called "stripes & florals." They just work together, am I right? I bought this striped blazer from a friend for $5 and it might be the best $5 I've ever spent (thanks Laura!). It just makes anything an outfit, instead of crap I threw on when I woke up (which is my normal routine).
Also, I must acknowledge my hair, because that is all I see in these pictures. It has gotten really long, which would be fine, but it is so thick that it drives me crazy. Lately I've been getting lots of comments (not to be confused with compliments) like "your hair... is so long." Well, yes. Yes, it is. I usually only get my hair cut once every nine months or so, and let's just say that it has at least been that long. I desperately need to get it cut. I just can't decide between medium length, a bob or super short. Okay, so the last one is probably not going to happen, but maybe someday I'll get the guts.

Stripes and florals is one of my favorite ways to pattern mix. This is such a great blazer on you!
ReplyDeleteI love this! I tried pattern mixing on the blog the other day too! Floral and stripes look so cute together....must try!
ReplyDeleteca-uuuute! I'm getting a Kate Middleton kind of vibe with your hair and I like it. I understand the weight issue though and I bet it'll look fabulous no matter which length you choose!
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks great! And the outfit is just too good and expensive :)
ReplyDeleteRock the bob.
ReplyDeleteThat's some great pattern mixing, Ashley! Love the fit of the blazer. And even I've been wanting to get a haircut for the longest time, but just can't decide on the style!
ReplyDeleteI love the striped blazer! I love pieces that make you look really put together instantly!

For only 5 bucks that blazer is a steal!! Don't you love having the same sized friends? ;)
ReplyDeleteAs for the hair thing, I've got a pretty thick mane too and in Sept. cut off about 5 inches. While I do miss my long curls it's pretty sweet to take such less time styling my hair!! Gotta mix it up sometimes, right?

Oh I love this combo! I never would have thought to do it! So pretty!

Love the outfit! My first thought was "wow her hair got long!" haha. I think it looks great though
ReplyDeleteMy vote for your hair is the middle pic...I feel like the first picture you wouldn't notice a difference in your hair and you would be disappointed in the end. You could totally pull off the super short hair cut. You have the face for it : )
ReplyDeleteCan't go wrong with stripes and floral. What will we do when pattern mixing is no longer a trend!?!?! I can relate 110% on your hair dilemma... My hair has gotten long and I have gotten similar comments about said fact. I just moved to Little Rock and have yet to find a new stylist. I've been admiring some great clavicuts and shorter looks but I don't know if I'm brave enough to take the plunge. I need to just bite the bullet.
ReplyDeleteI love floral + stripes! you look lovely!
ReplyDeleteYou could totally pull off shorter hair - I think a bob would look great on you! You have the perfect facial structure for it, and thicker hair has such nice volume when it's that length. That being said, I envy your long locks. Dilemma, dilemma.
ReplyDeleteAre you asking for advice? Because I'd hate to give my unwarranted opinion (ah, who are we kidding), but I don't think you should go for the bob. I like your pretty hair, and even though it might be a pain (I have thick hair too, it takes so long to blow-dry).
ReplyDeleteI wish I had friends to buy blazers from for $5. Too cool. This one looks great on you. I really should wear mine more often.
Geez, I need a striped blazer. Also, if I let my hair grow for 9 months it would be like down to my butt. Ha! Yours looks pretty!
ReplyDeletethat last picture of you is so so pretty :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think your hair looks that long! I'm usually pretty bad about getting mine cut as well, but then, I love it long.
ReplyDeleteand i love stripes and florals. it's just a perfect match.
Chic on the Cheap
Stripes and florals pair so beautifully together! My hair is getting crazy long too, I need to get it cut also.
