I haven't been feeling neglected or alone as much as I thought I would, which I think it because I have been so busy myself. I am teaching two classes this year (I teach an intro to college course, in addition to my regular job), one of which is in the evening, so I have been staying busy. Poor Winston has been feeling neglected lately:
But, in the midst of all the craziness, life has been so sweet. I got to take an amazing trip to Cali. I have also been fortunate to make a couple of new friends. Two of them work at the same university that I do, which has been awesome. Having friends all over campus is pretty wonderful. Also, they want to be my friend which, you know, means they're cool :)
The Dinner Club that I am in continues to meet once a month, and it is seriously so wonderful. I look forward to it every month. We also have a great church small group that meets weekly. Eric and I are so thankful for all of those wonderful people that we can open up with and know that they genuinely care about us.
Finally, my marriage is growing stronger. Now that our time together is so limited, we have been making an effort to be more purposeful with our time. We are both quick to apologize and quick to forgive - we want our time together to be special. I am so thankful for a healthy marriage.
Alright, I am done gushing. Happy Friday!

Well good, it sounds like every though things are still crazy, they are also not impossible. Poor Winston though =( haha. The dinner club sounds like a great idea too!
ReplyDeleteA dinner club sounds so fun!
ReplyDeleteI also work at a University in Oklahoma and teach an Intro to College class! Although I don't think we work at the same school, mine is pretty small. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome. Your view on friends and bringing together the community.
ReplyDeletePS. dinner club idea is fun.
ReplyDeleteaw, and I'm so happy you want to be my friend too :D this has been such a blessing! Poor little Winston, I just want to cuddle him up!
ReplyDeleteSo glad it's turning out to be a blessed season of life. :) I cannot WAIT to see you in 24 hours!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome that your husband being in school hasn't been too bad. My husband is in law school, and it is the worst! Don't even get me started! We literally have NO time together. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

My husband went back to school too and it was a struggle at first (time and money) but we found our way and things work out! he's finishing soon but I agree...you schedule accordingly and the challenge does make your relationship stronger as long as both of you make an effort. =D

That dinner club sounds really fun! And the small group too--it's awesome to be able to build relationships with people that you get to spend time with on a regular basis!
ReplyDeleteLoved this! I've never heard of a dinner club, what a cool idea!!

Wow, I'm so proud of Eric, for juggling school and work. My husband also went back to school, it really sucks up a lot of time. Despite that, I'm glad you guys are growing in your relationship, marriage and most importantly with Christ :) I'm so happy that you have a great surrounding church family that has been supporting you guys!

I loved reading this. It looks like you guys had a great September. Mine has been lovely too and there are only 2 days left to this great month. Bittersweet for me because October is the last month I will spend in the States before going back to Europe and to Albania. I will miss my Parents and my Brother very much. I will miss US in general, in particularly shopping here. =)
ReplyDeleteI wish you & Eric the best of luck with School: whether learning or teaching, educating yourselves or others. Knowing you guys from what I have read, I am sure you will do great. =)
And now I am all caught up with your blog, dear Ashley. Enjoy your Weekend, Ada. =)
It's crazy and scary how fast hours can disappear in a day! Glad you two are making the most of the time you have together. Give your pup a squeeze! :)

That's so lovely and a great idea. Make sure you spend enough time with little Winston! Good luck with everything and spending as much time as you can with your husband. I have always thought work and study at the same time must be so difficult...i am even thinking of it in a couple of months time, not sure yet though.
ReplyDeleteSo good that you guys had such a great September! Love the dinner club idea. And as always, Winston is so adorable :-)
