So let's be honest. This outfit isn't fabulous. And that's ok. I don't try to dress like a rockstar or anything, but I do want to feel good in what I'm wearing. I felt great in this. I love shorts, so I'm trying to wear them as much as I can until it gets too cold. I love gray (can gray be a favorite color?) and I like my hair in a braid. So there you go.
What do you feel most comfortable wearing? If I'm being honest, I feel most comfortable in gym shorts and a t-shirt. But since I do have to be a presentable person sometimes, I try to wear things I feel most comfortable in. Usually that's something soft, something gray, or something high-waisted. I think it's important to get out of your style comfort zone sometimes, but it's most important to feel like yourself in what you are wearing. That's why you'll never see me in animal print. I love it on other people, but it just doesn't suit my personality.
What about you guys? What do you wear that makes you feel like yourself?

LOVE those flats! So cute!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog! Now following! :)

This is how I look most weekends, comfy is always the best :)

I totally know what you mean. And yeah, a sweatshirt is coziest for me, but I also know that I have a few pairs of skinny jeans that I like to wear with flats and a cute but comfy top. When I wear that type of outfits, I still feel great about how I look while not feeling like a slob at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those shorts.
ReplyDeleteU look great...so fresh!
ReplyDeleteThose shorts are pretty fabulous, the extra details are very fun. I feel like my most comfortable outfit is a little weird - an a-line skirt, a soft tee (untucked!), and flats - not super flattering but comfy.
ReplyDeleteLove those shorts! And the whole outfit really. I love wearing grey too...probably too much, and I don't even care :)
ReplyDeleteI just want to know how a nice set of flannel pjs doesn't qualify as an acceptable work look. It has all of the elements of a professional outfit: collar, buttons, cuffs, matching pants...I'm working on getting that dress-code approved. I'm proud of you for staying true to your personal taste, it's very style brand-y of you :) And I LOVE your hair in a braid.
ReplyDeleteYou raise some interesting questions-- I'm not sure if animal print suits my personality, but print of actually animals themselves does suit my personality. I think I feel most comfortable in comfortable clothing that is relatively conservative (unless the most strikes me otherwise). Random question about your shoes, though... can/do you wear them with socks in colder weather? I've been looking for a pair of shoes I can wear in the winter time with socks other than boots, and it seems like your shoes are the best option?
ReplyDeleteTrue, comfort is much more important than following fashion trends, and you look absolutely comfy. Cute shoes.

I LOVE your shoes! So adorable! I'm most comfortable in a jersey knit skirt with a cute top!

I love your shoes. Those oxford are too cute! Sometimes I feel most comfortable really dressed up, just because I feel fancy and good about myself. Other times I really like to just be in sweats. It just depends on the day!

I totally know what you mean about wanting to show off a "fabulous" outfit. I feel most like myself with my hair pinned back wearing the perfect loungy cardigan. And elastic waist bottoms if we're being totally honest lol. Lately my style has been uber-casual and I think that because my outfit is nothing special, is it even blog-worthy? But I'm reminded that even simple outfits can be super cute with the right details (ex: loving those oxfords!) and having comfortable style is relateable in and of itself!

Feeling comfortable in your outfit is pretty important! I love your shoes, I've wanted to get a pair like that for awhile now and your hair sure does look totally amazing.
ReplyDeleteI feel most like myself in dresses and tights, so I tend to not be a very casual dresser. :P I actually feel very, very uncomfortable in shorts, so I rarely wear them, but I think you look so cute in this simple outfit! I love your shoes!
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely, you pull those high waisted shorts off beautifully!

I think everynoe should wear what they are comfortable in and I love the oxfords. I am comfortable with skinny jeans and a comfy sweater. Thanks for stopping by.

Ahhh - I love oxfords with bare legs!
ReplyDeleteAnd as far as my comfort factor - I turn to dresses! Some people think they're high maintenance, but they're just very forgiving and comfy if the fit is right. :)

Such a 'relaxed' outfit! And you manage to look great, Ashley! :)
ReplyDeleteI like tops and tees with the sleeves just hitting the elbow (like this grey one). In fact I'm wearing a red top with similar sleeve-length today.
So casual yet so put together! You have done really well with this one Ashley :)
ReplyDeleteI think you look great! The shorts and oxfords are so cute together. What makes me feel most comfortable is a cute tee and pencil skirt for work or skinnies, a lightweight sweater and scarf for fall.
ReplyDeleteYou look so chic and comfy. This is a great weekend outfit. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeletelove the high wasted short! especially with the flats. great!

Those shoes are great! I'm definitely comfortable in t-shirts like that. And stripes. Lots and lots of stripes.

First of all you look great. I love those Shorts, a little Retro too. Love them paired with the Henley and super adorable Oxford Shoes. I noticed your pretty Watch & Bracelet, too. Also, your hair has gotten quite longer. I love it with the side braid.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, to answer your question though they are 2 completely different clothing items/types of outfits I feel most like me when I am either wearing Leggings or a Dress. They both represent me very well: the casual side of me and the dressy side. =)
I miss you over my blog so when you have time to catch up - like I did with yours - stop by to see what Vivian & I are up to. Thanks & have a Lovely Weekend!!
And by the way I love Animal print, especially Leopard, Giraffe & Python or Snake-print. =)
