Week In Review - 4th of July and Picnics

Is anyone else on a post-4th high right now? Last week was just so, so great you guys. I haven't done a "week in review" post in a while, so I thought I would make it happen today (even though I'm pretty sure this type of post is enjoyed solely by my mother). So, my week through Instagram:

We had two of my cousins over for dinner last week. One of them just got a Boxer puppy named Knox...So freaking cute. I think I'm ready for another puppy.

Eric and I did something this past week that we have been talking about all summer. We went on a hike in the wilderness area by our house and then we had a picnic. It was one of those things that felt like a hassle ("ugh, we don't have ice for drinks" and "we need to find some plastic knives") but it was totally worth it and a lot fun.

Ah, the 4th of July. It was just so wonderful. I am so blessed to have an amazing family. We swam in my aunt's pool, had an amazing cookout, set off fireworks and had a dance party. It was perfect.

Saturday we spent the day with some of our favorite friends. Claire made some of the best cookies ever and we also spent some time doing more closet organizing (someday I will write a full post about it, I swear). We just love the Westbrooks and we are so thankful for the time we get to spend with them.

Our nephew came over to play with the Westbrook's son (they are about the same age) and Eric was so cute with them. It was definitely crazy having two kids crying about applesauce at the same time, but it was also a fun glimpse of "someday" :)

How was your 4th of July weekend?

  5. You can count me in the number that love these posts...not just your mom! :) We reveled in the glories of a long holiday weekend too. Sure made re-entry to normal life extra hard. Totally worth it though.

Thanks so much for your comment! I reply to my comments via email, but I can't do that if you are a no-reply blogger (if you don't know what that means, you probably are). Check out this tutorial to fix it!
