Outfit of the Week - Rough Mornings

Cardigan: F21 (similar) // Dress: Ross (similar1, similar2)  // Boots: Hunter // Watch: Fossil //
Brooch: Stella&Dot // Earrings: Target (similar)

This morning was rough. Actually, most of my mornings have been rough since returning from Europe. Eric and I are just... so... tired. *yawn* I think it's a combination of adjusting back to work, crazy thunderstorms for the past few nights, and the fact that we are just not morning people in general.

That brings me to this dress. I have had it for about eight years. I randomly picked up from Ross for about $3.99 and it might have been the best $3.99 I have ever spent. It is desperately trying to fall apart (I have reattached the straps to the dress about 4 times), but I love it. I love it because I don't have to think about it. I wear it on mornings that I don't have time to think about what I'm wearing, but I still want to look like I care decent. I have worn it with a maroon sweater, a gray blazer, red shoes, brown sandals, and (today) rainboots. It's the dress that keeps on giving. Well, at least until it actually does fall apart.

I have two questions for you. First, any advice for those of us that struggle to get out of bed in the morning? Secondly, what do you wear on days when you're just hoping you remember to put clothes on?

  1. Love this dress! Ross is the best (and worst) sometimes! I wish I had advice to help you get out of bed in the mornings, due to my 3 year old I have no choice but to get up when she says so - and as for the outfit - a tunic, leggings, and flats is my go to!

  2. I love this entire outfit, including your hair! You look fabulous. So fun with the boots for a yucky day. Great buy too at $3.99. Can't beat that.

  3. Love this outfit! The mustard cardigan really picks up the color in the dress! I will have to make a trip to my local Ross...it's right next to the Old Navy by me- dangerous! Love your boots too- just ordered my own pair online- I'm hoping they are comfortable and fit well around the calf! Do you like yours?

  7. love the hunters with the dress! i have the same ones!

i am a total night hawk and have a hard time getting up in the morning, but i know that sleeping earlier would definitely help. also having an idea of what i'm going to wear helps! my go to for those mornings are a good pair of denims, a v-neck tee, and a great pair of heels.

  10. What a Cute Dress. It looks great with Mustard. I have never been much of a morning person. I think washing your face with cold water, a morning shower and coffee usually help. Also some music, a little loud.

As far as a piece I never have to think about & can wear whenever is leggings. I can forever count on my leggings. I can pull together fast, quick and usually decent outfits out of leggings and I own quite the collection. =)

  11. That dress is so cute! I love the pattern, and it's awesome that you can just throw it on and go. My go-to is normally just jeans and a top and a cardigan. Yawn, so boring!

Thanks so much for your comment! I reply to my comments via email, but I can't do that if you are a no-reply blogger (if you don't know what that means, you probably are). Check out this tutorial to fix it!
