Somehow March is drawing to a close (whaaaa???), so it's time for me to post my clothing budget. I started doing this a few months ago to keep myself accountable for how much I spend on clothing. I love cute clothes, but I'm just not comfortable spending a significant amount of money on them, ya know? On to the fun stuff I found this month:
1. JCP Skirt I had a printed skirt on my "want list" and scored this sucker (yes, I am aware that "sucker" is a bizarre description of a skirt) for $8 (though online it's $17). During Oklahoma summers where the temperature stays in the 100s for months, I wear a light skirt and nice t-shirt to work literally everyday. I will definitely get a lot of wear out of this skirt.
2. F21 Maxi Dress Did I need another maxi dress? Um, no. But I was shopping with my sister and she convinced me to try it on... and I'm so glad she did. It honestly fits like it was tailored specifically for me - super-long and fitted up top. Normally maxi dresses make me look like I don't know how to do laundry (they are WAY too short) so I was really excited about this dress ($15).
3. Target Cardigan ($18.00) Ahhh, cardigans. I have a love/hate relationship with these guys. I have sooo many, because they are comfy and make any tank top appropriate to work. But... I feel like they get boring when I wear them too often. All that to say, this pretty gray cardigan was hard to resist, and I convinced myself I needed it because I didn't I have short-sleeve gray cardigan yet.
4. F21 Collar Necklace I just love F21 jewelry. I never have to feel badly about getting something trendy because it is so cheap! I love collar necklaces - I borrowed one from a friend for a couple weeks and wore it A LOT. So I decided that for $8.80, I could invest in one for myself.
Total: $49.80

Seriously - JCP has become my new favorite store, after not stepping inside of one for nearly 5 years!
DeleteYou found some great deals!!! I love it all. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Allison ♥♥
DeleteI have a love hate relationship with cardigans too. I wear them ALL the time but I do feel like they get boring. I love the detailing on the shoulders of that Target one though! Great buys this month :)
ReplyDeleteExactly! I LOVE them, but I feel like their just so boring. I'm sure I'll keep adding more to my closet anyway :)
DeleteI am a graduate student so keep these posts coming. I'm broke a lot. :) I just bought a blazer because I was sick of cardigans. I feel ya. :)
ReplyDeleteI definitely need to invest in more blazers, I'm thinking I need one in a bright color!

Thanks for stopping by, Elle!
DeleteYou are such a Savvy Shopper for sure. I love everything, especially the Maxi & the Necklace. I want a Collar Necklace so bad. They start at 15 bucks here though and can get as expensive as 100 bucks per necklace. That is a lot for custom jewelry, especially for something that is trendy now but may not be in a while. So I am hoping I find a necklace like yours for cheap, at Forever 21 or Love Couture when I come to the states.
ReplyDeleteI think literally all my jewelry is from Forever 21 (except my wedding ring, haha) because their prices are so good! You'll have to stock up next time you are in the states!
DeleteLooks like you got some super great finds!! Love the skirt and maki!
ReplyDeleteThanks for tagging me in your recent 5 things post (and following)! I'll definitely get one up soon, but like you, I'm not too good at sharing things about myself, so its gonna take a bit! ;)

Oh, She Dabbles
Thanks! Can't wait for it to warm up so I can wear the dress!
DeleteYep, IN LOVE with that forever dress and necklace. I think you made some lovely finds.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to wear them both!!
DeleteYou found some great deals this month! I have a weakness for maxi dresses, I can't resist them and I love this striped one you found. I know what you mean about never finding a great fitting one off the rack, although I have the opposite problem: I am so short, I always look like I am wearing my mom's clothes! The gold collar necklace is beautiful, too!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'm glad I'm not the only one who struggles with maxi dresses! I LOVE them, but it is a miracle if they fit right!
Deletethat collar is amazing! awesome purchases!
