December - Where My Dolla' Bills Went

I almost didn't write this post for 2 reasons - first, I challenged myself to not buy any clothing items in December. Buying Christmas gifts can get pretty expensive, so I wanted to focus my budget on other people. The second reason is that most of what I got in December were gifts. But, in the essence of full-disclosure, I decided to post. I'm sure some of these items will be making their way into my wardrobe soon, so I wanted share! Without further ado...

1. Fossil Slim Crossbody Bag: I am REALLY excited about this gift! I have carried a really similar bag from Target for about a year and it is falling apart (it's made of plastic and it cost $20) but I love it. That's why I am so excited about this bag. I'm sure it will last me a LONG time. I don't carry much, so I prefer smaller bags. (This bag is currently on sale for $89)

2. Utility Vest: I have mentioned wanting one of these before, but I kept passing because I'm just... cheap. 2 years after military vests are cool, I'm getting one, because I had a gift card. That's how I roll. I'm sure I'll be wearing it way past the time it is acceptable so don't judge. ($27.99 - purchased with a gift card)

3. Simple White Sweater:  My sister got me this sweater for Christmas and I have already worn in countless times. It is super soft, not too tight, and the perfect shade of white. I seriously love it! ($22.80)

4. Southwest Cardigan: I used a F21 gift card to buy myself this as well. I've been looking for something drape-y and aztec-y and this fit the bill perfectly! ($27.99)

5. Nine West Nude Heels: This is the only item I bough with my own money in December. I have mentioned before that I only own one pair of heels (in black - seen here and here) and I decided a while ago that nude heels would probably be a good investment. You know, so I never have to buy heels again :) Anyway, I have been looking for a pair meeting my requirements (under $50 and a kitten heel - I'm 5'10") for months. I found this pair at TJ Maxx for $39.99. I figured that these were an acceptable reason to spend money on myself :)

Total: $207.77
Total Cash: $39.99

  2. You got some great and very versatile pieces. I have a pair of nude heels (mine are a little blush/pinkish) with low heels (not kitten) and almond toes. Now I think a kitten pair (more beige than blush) is what I want. AND PROPS TO YOU FOR ONLY NEEDING 2 PAIRS OF PUMPS. I am a shoe-aholic.

By the way I gave you the Liebster Award on my blog. Here it is:

I would love to have you in my blog. Include a small introduction of yourself in the post. And when I will run my Guest Post you can let your readers (on your blog) now and link them to my post. It is a good thing I think. =)

  4. I love the vest! I've been searching for one for so long (within $$ reason)-- this one is great! It says online that the hood is removable? Is this so? Would you recommend this vest/how much do you love it?!

    Thanks!

    1. Hi Kate! I was the same way - I really wanted a similar vest but after Old Navy sold out I couldn't find an affordable one anywhere! I really love this vest - and the hood is easily removable. I will say that it is really utilitarian - not dressy at all. I like it that way, but F21 also has another vest (link below) that is basically the same but a little nicer, with pink lining. I tried that one on too and I really liked it!

    1. Gah, the bag is SO great! It's something I feel like I'll have forever. I prefer bags I can wear across my chest too - so much harder to lose them that way :)

  8. Girl you got so many great things this month! That bag is like #1 though and I completely agree, you'll use it for ever. A good leather crossbody is something that's on my "eventual" list as well so I'll have to keep Fossil in mind!

Thanks so much for your comment! I reply to my comments via email, but I can't do that if you are a no-reply blogger (if you don't know what that means, you probably are). Check out this tutorial to fix it!
