I'm not a very dressy person, but I love getting dressed up every once in a while. When I bought
this skirt I figured I would have plenty of ways to wear it, but then when I wanted to wear it to a friend's wedding a couple of weeks ago, I couldn't figure out what to do. Of course I kept thinking things like,
"if I had a peter pan collar white top or a nice gray sweater..." but then I got hardcore on my inner-self and said
"No, Ashley! You're working with what you have, remember?! Oh yes, I just wrote an internal dialogue with myself. That's not weird or anything. Ahem. This is how I ended up wearing the skirt to the wedding:
Gray Shirt: H&M
Tights & Heels: Target
Stopping by from Pleated Poppy as your lovely skirt caught my eye! It looks great with the tights and tee - way to work with what you have.
ReplyDeleteStopping by from Pleated Poppy... LOVE your outfit! I just adore the skirt - the sparkly detail of it and the color. And I love how you paired it with a simple tee and how the necklace balances it out. So perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love your skirt. You look really pretty. I always doubt myself when I want to wear dark tights with a light skirt, but I love this. You're making me realize it's a good thing.

Love the beaded skirt & also a denim shirt / jacket would work with the skirt. No on the Black tights - too dark - I'm thinking grey, nude or silver tights.
ReplyDeleteI completely get what you're saying on the black tights. I think I went with them because I only own black heels and I thought light colored tight would look bad with black heels. Maybe if I had nude or gray pumps the outfit would work with lighter tights? Not sure... thoughts?
DeleteThe black pumps are versatile & cheaper to get tights than pumps. Happy shopping whatever you decide - the skirt is georgeous.
DeleteLOVE that skirt!!! a light & flirty piece! great to dress up & dress down :)
