Olympic Review

You've totally been waiting on the edge of your seat to hear my thoughts about the Olympics, right? Well, today is your lucky day. Eric and I actually watched more of the Olympics this year than we ever had before, and I'm so glad we did. I literally felt inspired and emotional every evening we watched. Here were some of my favorite moments:

1. Rhythmic Gymnastics
This one really surprised Eric and I. Eric spent a whole day at work making fun of it to his co-workers, saying how it obviously wasn't a real sport. Then we spent all day Sunday watching it and we were entranced. It's CRAZY what these girls can do. It's honestly so crazy and cool you barely catch half of it when you're watching it. And, Lisa Frank obviously designed these uniforms, so that was a plus.

2. Ryan Lochte Ridiculousness
So... he was way overrated. Don't get me wrong, he's an excellent athlete, but I just felt like he got all the attention pre-olympics and then during the games the announcers were always talking about him (even when he didn't medal!). And then his mom goes and tells everyone he's a playa. Hilarious.

3. Gabby Douglas
Just like most of America, I'm smitten with this girl. She's an amazing gymnast, has a gorgeous smile and she loves Jesus. She's going to be such an awesome role model for so many little girls.

4. The Female Track & Field Team
These girls are FAST, they set a world record, they are smart and they're gorgeous. Oh and their abs are unbelievable. Completely inspired.

5. Kirani James
I love hearing about a country that wins its first gold medal, which James did that for Grenada. I definitely started tearing up when they showed his countrymen and women going CRAZY when he won. It was such a great reminder of all the small countries that compete with hopes of winning just one medal.

6. London
Gah, I want to visit SO BADLY. I've never been before, but the olympics just added to my desire to go.

What were the most memorable moments of the olympics for you?

Thanks so much for your comment! I reply to my comments via email, but I can't do that if you are a no-reply blogger (if you don't know what that means, you probably are). Check out this tutorial to fix it!
