Outfit of the Week - Black & White

When it's over 100 degrees every day during the work week, all you really care about is staying cool. I pretty much wear a version of this outfit everyday - a nice t-shirt tucked into a swingy skirt. Luckily, I can pretty much just mix and match everything over and over again and no one is the wiser. If I do need anything new to add to my "t-shirt/swingy skirt combo" I can just hit up a thrift store, find an awkward length skirt with a strange 90's pattern, hem it and then put a picture of myself wearing it on the internet. Which is exactly what I did here. What do you wear to work during the hot summer months?

Striped Tee: H&M
Skirt: Thrifted
Necklace: DIY
Sandals: Target

  1. Haha! I love this recipe you have here: quirky printed skirt + tee= fabulous! And this skirt has pockets. Amazing!

  2. Sounds like you have the perfect summer uniform! It's been crazy hot here and I just lose all outfit inspiration! But this is super cute. Love everything about it!

  3. That is such a cute outfit! I have been wanting to wear one of my quirky printed skirts, but struggling to find what to wear on top. And I'm super impressed that you can realize the potential in an item and then actually follow through to make it wearable. I often buy and discard (hangs head in shame) before ever turning it into something amazing like your skirt!

  4. LOVE this. Can you please teach me how to mix patterns? Pretty please?

    1. Ah Claire you make me feel so fancy :) Maybe I should do a blog post about mixing patterns?

  5. I love how you paired this and even more that you made that gorgeous necklace! so cute! :)

  6. Love your mix of patterns and the turquoise necklace is the perfect accessory! Just enough bold color too add interest but nothing to crazy to compete with the patterns. Thanks for joining the 'Real Girl Style' link up this week. Hope to have you back again this Tuesday!

Thanks so much for your comment! I reply to my comments via email, but I can't do that if you are a no-reply blogger (if you don't know what that means, you probably are). Check out this tutorial to fix it!
