Gold Leaf Candle DIY

Ooookay, so this took me more like 10 minutes because I did while watching a TV show and I kept getting distracting by the captivating, genius plot line. What show was I watching? I really can't believe I'm typing this... It's called Drop Dead Diva. Plot: aspiring supermodel dies in a car crash and then wakes up in an overweight lawyer's body. Yes, it is that bad. Don't watch it.

Anyway, I bought a gold leaf pen a few weeks ago at Hobby Lobby without knowing exactly how I was going to use it. Then last weekend, at IKEA, I picked up a $1 candle. And then genius struck. Just kidding. This project is a combination of a few things I've seen around and it was so easy. No genius required.

 How the candle looked before.

And after.

Like I said, so easy. Just draw lines on the candle with a gold leaf pen. It's not perfect by any means, but it definitely added a nice hint of gold and pattern where there previously was none. Best kind of craft, because you can do it while watching great television shows :)

    1. Haha I'm so glad I have something in common Doug's mom :) It is seriously so bad, but for some odd reason I've seen all three seasons!

  2. I'm ashamed to admit it but I watch Drop Dead Diva too. What is even funnier is that Adam watches with me!! (Swear to me that you won't tell anyone that!) I saw your blog on facebook, hope you don't think I'm a crazy stalker.

Thanks so much for your comment! I reply to my comments via email, but I can't do that if you are a no-reply blogger (if you don't know what that means, you probably are). Check out this tutorial to fix it!
