It's definitely weird that friends are having babies, but also completely normal at the same time. It's kind of surreal, honestly. I thought it would be fun to give a little shout-out to our expecting friends:
Jon & Emily
Eric went to High School with both Jon and Emily, and then Eric and Jon worked at New Life together. I feel like we're kind of friends because we're friends with their friends... if that makes sense. I am SO glad we have gotten to know them - they are lovely people. They are going to have a baby this week. Emily could literally be in labor as I write this. So excited to find out if this is a girl or boy (my theory is girl).
Colt & Claire
I went to college with Colt and Claire and I am so thankful that we have remained friends. We always look forward to spending time with them. Even though they only live 30 minutes away, we feel like that is way too far! They are also expecting Baby Duke this week.
Doug & DanaeHow do I even describe our friendship with these two? Eric and I worked at camp with both of them, and they have definitely become some of our favorite friends. They're the kind of friends that you just feel like you are always on the same page with. And they are going to be wonderful parents to Baby Castle (If it's a boy, I hope Doug pushes for the name "ghost.").
Brad & Mirela
These two are also college friends of mine, but Eric has become close with them too. We went to visit them in Portland last summer and we all had a great time. Brad and Mirela are both very genuine, intelligent people. They are having a baby girl. We are looking forward to seeing them in a couple of months!
Stuart & Belky
Stuart is Eric's brother, so you know, that's how we know them :) They are going to be having our first neice/nephew in January. Eric and I super excited to be able to play and babysit (and then hand him/her right back to Stu and Bel!). I know this is going to be one of the cutest babies I've ever seen.
So there ya have it. All those babies. It's so crazy to think about this new phase of life we're entering into. It's quite exciting :)
