The Master Bedroom - Phase 2

I am so excited to show you (whomever you are) this. It's pretty great.

Last week I wrote about the Master Bedroom Phase 1. Today is all about Phase 2. Which also happens to be the biggest stage. Here's a little reminder of what we were working with:

Notice the two mismatched side tables... it's hard to tell but the one on the left is a wicker basket with a lid and the one on the right is kind of a tri-level outdoor table. We were also using some lamps we had lying around until we could get new ones. And of course, no headboard. This area definitely needed some improvement. So here's what we came up with:

Much better eh? The headboard, the lamps, the white quilt... I'm kind of in love.

The headboard is a simple DIY version that we followed this tutorial for. It was super-easy and it cost about $50 to make. And just for the record, Eric made it, not me. So he deserves any praise you may have :)

Here is a close up of one of the wall lamps. These are from IKEA for $20 each. We bought them a long time ago, but we're just now getting them on the walls. I love having a wall mounted lamp because it provides the perfect height of light (rhyme...) for reading. And it leaves plenty of room on the side table. Which is great, because it's actually a really small room and we need all the extra space we can get.

And the tables. These are from Target. I love the mirrored look. You would think it would be very 90s, but I think it's actually pretty classy. They originally had little plastic knobs but I replaced them with initialed knobs from Anthropologie.

The A is for Ashley. Just in case you were unsure.

So there you have it. Phase 2 of the makeover. There is still a lot to do, but just this part has made a huge difference. Let's look at before and after once more, shall we?

  1. Look how crafty you are.

And I don't mean cunning and sneaky. You always used to claim you weren't artsy. Think again, Ash, think again.

  9. I love the headboard! We saw one like that recently and almost made it too but chickened out. I've been in the process of completely redoing our master as well...for about a year :( I got busy trying to finish up school, but we're almost done now :)

Again, great job....kinda wish we had tried to make it now.

Thanks so much for your comment! I reply to my comments via email, but I can't do that if you are a no-reply blogger (if you don't know what that means, you probably are). Check out this tutorial to fix it!
