The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

I am a fan. A Harry Potter fan. And I am not ashamed. That's why I was so ecstatic when my sweet husband surprised me with a trip to Orlando, FL for our anniversary. He knows me so well.

So last weekend we flew to Florida. If you aren't aware, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is just a section of the Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure theme park. So we spent two days in the theme park doing everything but the Harry Potter area, then we spent the entirety of the last day in Hogsmeade. It was fantastic. So detailed. It really did feel like we were in the book/movie/story. Well, besides the fact that everyone was dressed in their muggle clothes, but what can you do?

Because I love you (and because I love Harry Potter), you're going to get to see a lot of pictures. Here goes:

The entrance to Hogsmeade.
Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts.
About to go into Honeydukes.
Marvelous.
Zonko's Joke Shop.
For purchase at Zonko's.
After eating fish and chips at the Three Broomsticks.
Eric's Butterbeer.
Ollivander's Wandshop. Those are all wands in the boxes. And yes, you can buy them. We didn't. Yes, even I draw the line when it comes to my love of all things Harry Potter.
A hallway in the castle. The pictures move and talk to one another and walk out of the paintings. It is kind of giving me chills just thinking about it.
Sneak peak of Dumbledore's Office.
Some international guests were a walking around Hogsmeade

So there you have a preview. More pictures to come on facebook for all you die-hard Potter fans.

  3. I was in Orlando last weekend too! What's the deal with you and Eric traveling to the same place as me...at the same time (Washington DC?!?)? I didn't go to Universal Studios though. I was helping a friend move there. Would have been funny to run into you guys again.

Thanks so much for your comment! I reply to my comments via email, but I can't do that if you are a no-reply blogger (if you don't know what that means, you probably are). Check out this tutorial to fix it!
